- Morning:
Depart early from Gondar (around 7:00 AM) by 4x4 vehicle to Simien Mountains National Park (approx. 2.5–3 hours' drive). Upon arrival at the park’s entrance in Debark, pick up your local scout and get entry permits. - Mid-Morning to Afternoon:
Begin scenic drives and short hikes around Sankaber – the first campsite of the Simien range. Enjoy breathtaking views of deep gorges, high plateaus, and dramatic cliffs. Spot wildlife such as:- Gelada baboons (endemic to Ethiopia)
- Various bird species like the lammergeier (bearded vulture)
- Lunch:
Picnic lunch in the park with stunning views. - Late Afternoon:
Return drive to Gondar, arriving around 6:00 PM.
