- Morning drive from Addis Ababa to Bale Mountains National Park headquarters in Dinsho (approximately 6-7 hours).
- Stop for lunch in Shashemene and continue the scenic drive through Ethiopia’s highlands.
- Upon arrival in Dinsho, visit the park headquarters to meet your guide and explore the area.
- Enjoy an easy walk around Dinsho to spot wildlife like Mountain Nyala, Menelik’s bushbuck, and warthogs.
- Overnight at a lodge or campsite in Dinsho.
- Early morning drive to the breathtaking Sanetti Plateau (over 4,000 meters), the highest plateau in Ethiopia.
- Spot the rare and endemic Ethiopian wolf, the world’s most endangered canid.
- Visit Tulu Dimtu, the highest peak in the park, for stunning panoramic views.
- Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild.
- Return to Dinsho for dinner and overnight stay.
- Drive to the Harenna Forest, one of Ethiopia’s last remaining natural forests.
- Explore the lush, misty forest, home to diverse wildlife, including black-and-white colobus monkeys, lions, and leopards (rarely seen).
- Take a short hike and enjoy the serene environment.
- Visit local villages to experience the traditional way of life in the Bale region.
- Overnight stay at a lodge or campsite near the forest.
- After breakfast, drive back to Addis Ababa, stopping for lunch along the way.
- Arrive in Addis Ababa in the afternoon.
- Optional souvenir shopping or city tour before departure.
